New Eureka Copper Canyon LX Tent Series (Great Cabin Tents)

There is a new Eureka Copper Canyon LX Tent Series which they launched recently, with 4 tents in the series for 12, 8, 6, and 4 people. Keep reading.

What this is about

If you are familiar with this brand then you know that they have already had this Copper Canyon tents series on the market for many years. In fact, the previous versions are still on the market and they are not going anywhere.

But if you are not familiar with these previous tents, you will see one of them in the list below; I added it just for comparison to see some external changes they introduced in the tents’ design.

So the series is a bit modified but there are no substantial changes here. You will notice that these LX Tents have the roof which is flatter than the tents from the old series. The windows are a bit reshaped and there are changes in colors as well.

What you have here are cabin style and freestanding tents designed for warm-weather camping. Note that the manufacturer describes them as 3-season tents but I would not suggest using them in a cold environment and in very windy areas. They are tall and boxy, mist suited for calm and warm weather.

These are very tall and pleasant structures with 7 ft (213 cm) peak height for all of them. So these are among the tallest tents on the market.

The two smaller tents (for 4 and 6 people) are with one door and one room, and the two largest (for 8 and 12 people) have two doors and a divider inside so you can have two rooms. They all come with gear lofts included and with numerous wall pockets (two pockets in the smaller tents and no less than six in the two larger tents).

As you realize from the pictures below, the tents are with huge windows on all sides, and those are two-layer structures with mesh and zippered panels for protection and privacy.

The fly is minimal and it covers the roof only where you have huge mesh areas. All the tents come with an E-cable port as well.

The materials

The poles are a combination of steel (used for the vertical legs) and fiberglass (used on the roof). The poles attachment to the tents is through the pin-and-ring system at the base, and clips and sleeves higher on the tent.

They do not provide much info about the fabric, bit clearly this is polyester. The old model was with 1200 mm waterproof rating and I assume the same is in this new series.

What is Eureka

You might want to know that the Eureka! brand was founded in 1895 and they are globally known for their outdoor equipment, in particular for their tents which they build in all sizes and shapes. These Copper Canyon tents are their largest.
